Don't be a panican

Don’t Be A Panican

Donald Trump, master of the art of the deal—and now, apparently, the English language—offered some presidential reassurance as markets tumbled from tariff tremors: “Don’t be a panican.” It’s part command, part catchphrase, and fully Trump. While Wall Street spiraled, he stayed on-brand: calm in the chaos, tough at the table, and always ready with a headline-ready zinger. Somewhere, Shakespeare just raised an eyebrow.

Long Game

Behind the viral moment, there’s a big economic shift happening. The markets are reacting poorly to Trump’s new tariff plan, which includes higher tariffs and stricter rules to make things fairer globally. Investors aren’t happy about it, and the stock market is taking a hit.

But Trump isn’t worried. He’s playing a long game. And if there’s one thing Trump loves, it’s making deals—even if it makes some people on Wall Street upset.

Regular Americans

If anyone’s panicking, it’s the elites. Regular Americans—the ones who actually keep the lights on in this country—aren’t glued to the stock market. They’re focused on jobs, paychecks, rising bills, and how to stretch every last cent. They don’t have time to panic—they’re too busy building. Whether it’s putting up drywall, launching a side hustle, stacking shifts, or trying to grow a business that might one day give their kids a leg up, they’re moving forward. No spreadsheets, no think tanks—just grit and goals. And they are the ones that know everything will be okay.

So while Wall Street scrambles and analysts run through their charts, Trump’s message to everyday Americans is simple and kind of odd, but totally on-brand: Don’t panic.

Honestly? It might be the most American thing said all week.
