Senator Jim Banks – You Probably Deserved It

You probably deserved it. Senator Jim Banks

Senator Jim Banks – you probably deserved it. A new viral moment—and a fresh meme—is taking the internet by storm. The Republican Senator from the Hoosier State (Indiana) just went full beast mode during a no-nonsense walk to the elevator. Earlier this week, a so-called “fired employee” from the Department of Health and Human Services attempted to confront him, no doubt hoping for a dramatic showdown.

But instead of taking the bait, the Senator shut it down with effortless dominance. No grandstanding, no over-the-top theatrics—just pure, unbothered energy. The way he handled the situation? That’s exactly how every politician should deal with these self-important clowns who think they can hijack the spotlight, trying to get a gotcha moment.

The author of the RedState article takes a well-aimed shot at the so-called “fired employee” and his glaring sense of entitlement. Sure, no one should celebrate someone losing their job—unemployment can be devastating, no matter who it happens to. At the end of the day, we want people working because a strong workforce fuels a strong economy.

And come on now—throwing a public tantrum and ambushing a sitting U.S. Senator isn’t exactly the best look. If anything, it reinforces the question: was this guy fired because of actual wrongdoing, or is he just another activist masquerading as a victim? Either way, the self-pity routine isn’t earning him any sympathy points.

And how, exactly, does one get illegally fired? Well, I suppose if a private corporation blatantly violates equal opportunity laws, engages in routine discrimination, or reneges on a legally binding contract, then sure—that could be considered an unlawful termination. There are legal guardrails in place for those scenarios.

But let’s not forget: the federal government isn’t some endless employment agency, nor is it obligated to provide jobs for just anyone. If you’re working in a government position and get shown the door, there’s usually a reason—whether it’s performance-based, policy-driven, or simply part of a broader restructuring.

If the firings are as widespread as this PBS NewsHour guest suggests, then they’re probably warranted. Trimming the bureaucratic fat isn’t a crisis—it’s common sense. Streamlining operations, cutting unnecessary roles, and refocusing on what truly matters is exactly how any efficient organization should function. Government bloat doesn’t serve the people—it just drains resources and slows everything down.

And I’ll tell you what else I’d personally love to see—the FDA dragged front and center for a long, relentless, no-stone-unturned investigation into that macabre, bloated bureaucracy. Their leash is way too long—hell, at this point, does it even exist?

Let’s talk about the opioid crisis of the ’90s, where they rubber-stamped OxyContin and let Big Pharma rake in billions while people dropped like flies. Or how about the politically greased approval of aspartame—and let’s be real, that’s just one of many cases where politics, not science, made the call.

And do I even have to say it? COVID vaccines. Shut up.

Can we get Senator Jim Banks to team up with Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. (RFKJ) please?
